The Skipton Christian Fellowship has changed its name to Champions Church. Since 1908 there has been a Christian church at the top of Carleton Road, and the present building on site was opened in 1950. Over the years the church has had several different names such as Carmel Pentecostal Church and more recently Skipton Christian Fellowship. The congregation that meets there is part of a nationwide group of churches called Assemblies of God UK.
