According to a history website (see shared description), "its name belongs to its pre-Second World War conversion to bijou residence. Much of the ornamental treatment, including the statues on the parapet, dates from the early 1960s, when the house was remodelled for Sir Henry Aylwen, a former Lord Mayor of London."
