Conceptual artist Lawrence Weiner originally made this work in 1998 using the materials of Language and Steel, for a site in Hull as part of the arts festival transpennine98. When it was at risk of destruction it was transferred to Radcliffe where it was resited in the town centre on the river wall by Radcliffe Bridge. The sculpture has been reconfigured to respond to its new location in the heart of Radcliffe, ever changed by the rise and fall of the water. Image] shows a wider view.
