View southward, towards Retford, Grantham and the South: ex-GNR (King's Cross - Doncaster) section of the ECML, electrified 1989. Part of the station remains on the right, closure for passengers having been from 6/10/58,for goods 7/12/64. During World War Two there was a large Royal Ordnance Factory (Cordite) on the Up side here, with its own Factory Station on the extensive circular layout of rail lines.
