One of two inscriptions on the base of the memorial to W E Powell (see Image), this one in Welsh, the other in English. W E Powell was a Lieutenant in the Welsh Guards, only son of the Captain and Mrs E A L Powell of Nanteos (see Image), who was killed in action in Bavay in Northern France on 6 November 1918, only 5 days before the end of the war.
