It was to be located next to Blue Berries Early Care and Education Centre (the building to the left of the field). Planning permission was granted by Dover District Council under application number 13/00867 for a “proposed new food store, doctor’s surgery and pharmacy, together with associated car parking, landscaping, courtyard and service yard”. Waitrose set up a special website to provide information about its proposal but I understand that, due to overwhelming public opposition, all the development plans were abandoned and the site looks much the same in 2020 as it did in 2013.
