The cottage is dated 1686 http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3760142 and is the earliest dated brick cottage in Leicestershire. It would probably have been thatched originally, the current roof with its Welsh slates being raised higher than the original. The brickwork is in Flemish bond with blue headers. Listed Grade II.
