Centre of a series of big news stories in 2012 and 2013. Eric Joyce is currently (2013) the independent MP for Falkirk. He was elected as the Labour candidate but resigned from the party following his suspension after a criminal conviction. The real fun started during the election of the successor: accusations of vote rigging, ghost members by Unite, a trade union; the local party being put into "special measures" by the London based party; connections to a bitter industrial dispute at Grangemouth petrochemicals through disciplinery action against the local party chairman and elements of the conduct of that dispute is now leading to the next round of anti trade union legislation by the Westminster Government. The story that keeps giving.
