The 'L' stands for learner. A person who hasn't legally passed a test of competency to drive a vehicle must carry an 'L' plate (or 'D' plate in Wales) on the front and rear of the vehicle. Although not a legal requirement, you should remove the 'L' plates from the vehicle when you have passed your test. This will avoid the possibility of being stopped by the police. The Super Buzz bus is crossing over to the bus lane, which leads to the bus station.
