In the 1930s there were buildings attached to the east side of the pub, with the south portion having an Ordnance Survey flush bracket benchmark described on the Bench Mark Database at http://www.bench-marks.org.uk/bm20696 It appears these buildings were demolished around 1970 possibly associated with A418 road widening.
