One of the city centre's few surviving pre-Victorian enclaves. No. 16 is stately late C18th, three storeys in red brick above a modern shop (occupied at the time by 'Office'). Grade II listed. Nos. 18-20 (McDonald's) is also C18th but was altered in the C19th. Clad in painted stucco. Grade II listed.
