A beast of a warehouse and it must have been a beast of a budget as it is entirely clad in stone. Italianate in style. By Mills & Murgatroyd, 1867-68, who subsequently converted it to a hotel as early as 1883. Grade II listed. As Pevsner remarks, its proportions have been ruined by the addition of the top two storeys in conversion to flats.
