The rows of brick cottages south of the main road in Winchburgh are some of the best examples of their kind. They were built in the 1890s, and their names reflect the fact that the land is or was part of Hopetoun Estate. On the left are the rears of the houses in Image One wonders what the point of trying to conserve townscapes and villagescapes is, when the council comes along and dumps multiple garish wheelie bins that have to be stored somewhere. Just look at the number of bright blue monstrosities poking up over garden walls all along the lane.
