Photo showing the A591 main road that passes through the village of Staveley between Kendal and Windermere. Reston Scar is seen here in the background. The village is situated at the confluence of two rivers, the Kent and the Gowan. The River Gowan is only a short river as it starts at the village of Ings to the west of Staveley where it meets up with the River Kent.
