“Danesfort” (originally “Clanwilliam”) was built c 1875 for Samuel Barbour of Hilden Mill. The architects are thought to have been Young and Mackenzie. The house eventually became the offices of the Electricity Board for Northern Ireland (later the Northern Ireland Electricity Service). After privatisation the grounds were sold for residential development. The gate lodge is unoccupied.
