Taken from near Strickland Place, the wording on the square notice says "This rock weighs five tons & was presented to the town by Van Oord UK". That was possibly in 2009 when a blue plaque on the other side of the rock was unveiled in that year to commemorate William Godell who left land in the town on trust forever.
