Not for the first time plans are said to be afoot to complete the demolition of Esplanade House and redevelop the former gasworks site on which it stands. Esplanade House was built (I think) after the closure of the gasworks in 1968 and used for a time as offices by North Thames Gas. Demolition began in 2008 but only got so far.
