Seen from the top deck of an X18 bus, on leaving Haymarket bus-station at the start of the 'wandery' way to Berwick ... a leisurely journey of four hours, well worth the time if you're not in a rush (preferably when the sun shines, not a drizzly-to-downpour event like I had today! - ask the driver for an individual or family 'Day Saver' ticket, get on-and-off where you will); to date I've counted nine historic castles/towers en route, and there are many interesting villages, plus stunning views of coast and countryside.
