Constituency office of David Mundell, the only Tory Westminster MP in Scotland. Eliminating Tories is a bit like Whack-a-Mole. Got rid of them once, in 1997 but one then popped up in Galloway only to be defeated and replaced by Mr Mundell in this indescribable constituency (Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale) which extends from Gretna almost to Penicuik. It was sort of made up from leftovers when Scotland had its representation reduced after devolution. 60 years earlier, the Unionist Party gained over 50% of the popular vote in Scotland, the only time this has ever happened.
