John Symons House was built in 1862 as a pair of semi-detached houses called South Villas. They were the last to be built in Park Row and are the remaining survivors, the terrace of houses on the north side having been replaced by modern dwellings. Now occupied by NHS Hull & East Riding Community Health. Alderman John Symons was a silversmith and bullion dealer. He wrote several books on local history, including 'Kingstoniana' (1889). He was Sheriff of Hull in 1890.
