Outside the New Dolphin Public House, the 'Dolphin Mooring Post' sculpture was created in 1993 by Freeform Artists with help of the Community of John Spence School. It is based on mooring posts traditionally used on the River Tyne. The work includes a cormorant sitting on top drying its wings. The cormorant, known affectionately as `Colin`, was sculpted by artist Richard Broderick and was added some time after the main structure was installed. http://www.cheviotwalks.org/northtynesidewalks/art1.html Brewhouse Bank rises up from the Fish Quay behind.
