Muscliff: Castle Lane shops on Muscliffe Lane corner

This parade of shops stands on a service road on Castle Lane West, by the corner of Muscliffe Lane (Muscliff, the district, is traditionally spelt without the 'e' on the end although Muscliffe Lane, and Muscliffe Road in Winton, both have it). According to my Kelly's Directory of 1975 it comprised (left to right) a dry cleaners, a ladies' hairdresser, a chemist and a newsagent; today these are an estate agent, a hairdresser still, and the last two shopfronts - most prominent in this picture - are a fancy dress shop.
