Scaffolding on the building in this late November 2011 view detracts from the usual view http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/888018 of the Grade II* listed hotel in The Promenade. Opened in July 1838, the hotel is a notable early example of the larger hotels which were erected in some resorts before the era of the great railway hotels.
