Looking towards Wolverhampton city centre from near the point where Penn Road (the A449) becomes a dual carriageway, with Lonsdale Road on the left and an entrance to part of the Royal Wolverhampton School visible in the right foreground. The Goldthorn Hotel, which has undergone at least a couple of ownership (and name) changes in the past couple of decades, hides behind the trees on the left, while in the centre of the picture one can discern Mander House and the tower of St Peter's church in the city centre.
