Viewed from Intermediate Road. A 5 mph speed limit applies along the entrance road to the school buildings, about 150 metres ahead. The school is a co-educational foundation school with nearly 1,000 pupils enrolled, aged 11-18, from Brynmawr and neighbouring towns and villages in Blaenau Gwent and Monmouthshire. Founded in 1897, the school has been at this site since 1964.
