Grade I listed Thirlestaine House, Cheltenham

Viewed across the A46 Bath Road. Thirlestaine House, now part of Cheltenham College, was built in 1823. It was Grade I listed (the highest category) in March 1955. The listing text states "Thirlestaine House represents the apogee of the Cheltenham villa and is the only surviving example of the grand villa within the town which compares well to the most outstanding examples of this type throughout the country."
