Boscombe: former Tarrazona Mansion

I have a postcard of this building, postmarked 25 December 1903, which shows that a number of changes have taken place to this building, on the corner of Wharncliffe Road the main Christchurch Road, over the years - most of them probably very recently. The hotel building has clearly been converted into various flats, with shopfronts created along the main road. Timberwork has been removed from around the window in the large gable on the right, and the frontage immediately below it has been added; previously the walls of the upper floors continuing to the ground formed the frontage. Like so much of Bournemouth, though, there is still a lot to be appreciated in the buildings lining the town's main thoroughfares as long as one concentrates one's gaze above the ground floor.
