The greatly extended former gate-keeper's house on the north-east side of the Nottingham-Lincoln railway route is currently called "The Gate House". The cream-coloured rear extension faces Criftin Road. Behind the photographer a public footpath soon links up with another footpath that passes through meadows on the north side of the River Trent.
