Opened in 1840 by the North Midland Railway on the line from Rotherham to Leeds, this station was known as "Oakenshaw for Wakefield" for most of its life. It closed very early, in 1870 and all trace has long since been removed. View south west from the A638 towards Sandal & Walton and Rotherham.
