The main road runs from Beaulieu to St Leonards, the minor turning leads to Bucklers Hard. At the time the minor road was closed to traffic due to works, but the Solent Way footpath which follows the lane was still open. The yellow sign says 'Solent Way Pedestrians Unaffected'.
