One of several springs and seeps in the vicinity. Water collects in a sink on the floor and then flows off beside the road. That's the total outfall, bottom right. It's a very small spring as these things go, but this elaborate structure has been built around it, with inscriptions in Greek and Egyptian. Some mention of it is on this web page http://www.megalithic.co.uk/article.php?sid=12202 and here is a picture of it taken in 1901 from the Francis Frith collection. http://www.francisfrith.com/pageloader.asp?page=/search/photos/viewphoto.asp&neg=47467&collectionid=10&townid=&start=1&action=prevphoto#utmcsr=google.co.uk&utmcmd=referral&utmccn=google.co.uk where it looks in a bit of a bad way.
