Opened in 1888 as "Birkenhead Docks" by the Wirral Railway on what is now the line from Liverpool to West Kirby and New Brighton. This station replaced the 1866 terminus station at Birkenhead Dock, around 200m to the north. It was renamed "Birkenhead North" in 1926. View south east towards Birkenhead Park and Liverpool, around 5 years before the footbridge was replaced. See Image for a 2018 view.
