The line from Otford to Maidstone East was opened on 1st June 1874 by the London, Chatham & Dover Railway. Kemsing station was opened on the same day. The station is unstaffed as it has been for many years and there are no buildings on the platforms. This view is from the footbridge in the down direction towards Maidstone East.
