The area is undergoing regeneration with new houses being built on the site of 20th century residential buildings. The strip of grass, not far from Ibrox Stadium, was cleared more recently than land to the north of Brighton Street according to maps (buildings still shown on the 1:25,000 map). The tenements in the background are older than the buildings that stood in the cleared area and are in good repair.
