Opened 3 June 1889 by the London and South Western Railway, this station is on the Wimbledon branch of the District Line. Northbound trains run either to Edgware Road or to the City and beyond via Embankment. Southbound trains serve Wimbledon, where connection can be made for main line trains going further west, and also for trams to Croydon and New Addington.
