This huge wall is far more than is required for the simple boundary it serves as today. It originally held back enough water to flood the entire field the other side of it. It as thick as a single track lane. The water channel that leads from the opening runs a few hundred yards downstream before joining the river Loughor which is running in parallel to the channel, out of shot to the right.
