Obelisk commemorating the progressive early 19th Century politician, who was born in Aberdeenshire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Forbes_(politician) . It is now in the grounds of the sprawling Royal Cornhill Psychiatric Hospital off Westburn Road.
