Viewed from Damside, the terraces seen here, from left to right, are Basil Street, west and east sides, and Colne Lane. Formerly, the whole of the area between the photographer and these terraces was itself occupied by a maze of small factories and terrace houses: the outlines of many of these now-demolished buildings can be traced from the stones which have been left.
