On the north side of Pentonville Road (the A501) near the junction with Penton Rise (the A201) lies this extended former burial ground that now serves as a public garden called The Joseph Grimaldi Garden. It is named after the late-18th century stage clown whose grave exists within this section of it. Pentonville Chapel (later known as St James' Episcopal Chapel) existed on this site between 1788-1985. In the place of the latter is a full-size Palladian replica of the chapel (out of sight, to the left) that was built in the 1990s and that houses offices and apartments.
