"In Memory of Hugh Kerr, Tobacco Merchant, Kentucky; born at Gatend, Beith, 3 January 1808; died at Helensburgh, 7th February 1891." ("Gatend, Beith" is at Image) The memorial, which stands near the northern boundary wall, was designed by the architect William Leiper.
