This arrow straight road is also known as Ermin Street or Ermin Way. As such it is one of the great Roman roads of Britain. It runs from Gloucester (Glevum) via Cirencester (Corinium) to Silchester (Calleva Atrebatum). Much of it is now covered by the modern A417, A419 and B4000 roads.
