A formidable Georgian town house, dated 1755, of seven bays and three storeys with giant pilasters at the angles and picking out the middle bay, and a later Tuscan porch. (Round the corner is a discordant C19th front.) Grade II listed. Built for John Children, and still inhabited by children as it is now one of Tonbridge School's boarding houses. The date of the picture is uncertain.
