Opened in 1873 by the Macclesfield, Bollington & Marple Railway (which has since closed), this station eventually replaced the previous London & North Western Railway station at Hibel Road in 1960, at which time this station was completely rebuilt, extended south to the camera position, and the "Central" suffix dropped. View north towards Hibel Road, Prestbury and Manchester.
