Morrison's Supermarket Lower Level Car Park, Hillsborough Barracks, Hillsborough, Sheffield

This picture was taken on Thursday 21st March, when the weather pundits were forecasting heavy snow on the following day ... and both levels of the huge car park were full to bursting, with drivers circling around looking for spaces. Perhaps the Supermarkets should consider 'bribing' the weather forecasters each week or when business is slack ... maybe they already do! Incidentally, the forecasters were spot on and there was heavy snow in the Sheffield area ... so much that I didn't venture out of my house! The building in the background is one of the original buildings making up the Hillsborough Barracks. Once the Army had moved out, the premises were adapted and used by a local Sheffield company for many years ... the company was Burdall's who were famous for making and selling Gravy Salt. As far as I know this company no longer exists ... but one of their signs still does ... see ... Image Image Image The building is currently used as Office Space ... one of the attractions is that you can easily 'nip' to the Supermarket for your lunch!
