This view of the Club - especially the end wall - shows how it has been extended and heightened over the years. I think I can see at least four phases. The house is a Grade II listed building and dates from the early 19th Century when an eminent doctor - G C Holland - lived in the house In 1851, George Miller, a contractor involved in building the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway, bought the house and lived there until his death in 1884 See also ...
