There are many independent and interesting shops in this corner of Islington, but this particular one is listed grade 2 (list entry number 1195522), not so much for its architectural merit, as for being "an important and rare surviving example of a type of shop once common in London". It dates from the early C19 and has been a shop since 1905. To the left is a pet shop, named after the nearby Angel district.
