17th century listed bridge within the Royal Forest of Knaresborough carried packhorse traffic between Knaresborough and Ripley across Oak Beck before the development of other roads in the 18th century. Now it caters for pedestrians, including those undertaking the rigours of the Harrogate Ringway long distance footpath.
