This view shows some typical south Ayrshire countryside. The rolling landscape was produced during the last Ice Age, when drumlins of heavy clay were deposited. Low-lying areas tend to accumulate water, producing marshes and rough ground. Viewed in mid-February, after a long period of wet weather.
