The Newport Civic Society & The Friends of the Newport Ship blue plaque is on the River Usk side of The Riverfront. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1451413 It records that in 2002 the remains of a large merchant ship, dating from the 15th century, were discovered on this site.
