On the west side of the Square, at its junction with John Street, is the Kingston Theatre Hotel & Restaurant, a much-decorated Victorian building. Here the entire facade is painted monochrome. It was formerly the home and salon of Madame Clapham, the city's celebrated dressmaker, whose clients included royalty.
